'Along the Way' is a local feature on News 88.9 KNPR, Nevada Public Radio. Each week the host, David Bert, takes the listener on an audio adventure to unique and interesting places within a half-day's drive of Las Vegas.

In the Spring of 2003, during a Membership Drive, David made the offer that if a listener would pledge at the appropriate level to receive the 'Michael Feldman, Whad'Ya Gnome' he would take the statue with him on his journeys. Further, he would photograph the diminutive likeness of Mr. Feldman in the various locations he visited. Well, the listeners took David up on the offer.
