Child Focus provides programs, resources and services that enrich the lives of Clark County children living in foster care and creates opportunities for each child to develop the individual strengths and abilities to help prepare them for responsible adulthood.
Our programs include:
Sibling events: Through our quarterly get-together events, Child Focus provides the opportunities for siblings living in separate homes to enjoy time together while creating special memories that will last a lifetime.
Camp To Belong: Brothers and sisters living in separate foster care homes are reunited for a weeklong camp full of fun events, emotional empowerment, sibling connection and life-long memories.
Step Up Program: Child Focus administers a State of Nevada program that supports youths in transitioning from foster care to being self-sufficient. This assistance encompasses a range of services including obtaining a high school diploma, substance abuse education and financial assistance for housing, food, clothing, transportation and medical care.
Birthday Wishes: Because too many foster children's birthdays go unnoticed, Child Focus provides a birthday card and present or gift certificate so every foster child knows they are remembered on their special day.
In-Home Tutoring: Weekly in-home tutoring sessions with the emphasis on reading and math, along with "Student of the Month" rewards.
Mentoring: One-on-one mentoring is available to high school students, along with monetary incentives for grades, citizenship and extra-curricular activities to be used for their continuing education in college or a vocational/trade school.
