Mission

Nevada Humanities makes life-long learning opportunities available to all Nevadans. We work to create community through conversation and to encourage civic engagement, to strengthen cultural institutions and to preserve Nevada history. We encourage critical thinking and reflection and support Nevadans in their quest to read widely, think deeply and to become engaged in community life.

Services

Nevada Humanities is one of the producing partners of the flagship Vegas Valley Book Festival (VVBF) now in its seventh year. We offer over $100,000 in grants annually to organizations who promote our goals of building community through civic conversation, preservation of Nevada history, strengthening cultural organizations, and encouraging critical thinking and reflection.

You Can Help by Volunteering

Data entry; to serve as hosts and greeters at the Vegas Valley Book Festival panels and performances; and to assist with Food for Thought.
