Hollywood Rec Center has fitness center, arts classes

The Hollywood Recreation and Community Services Center is at 1650 South Hollywood, between East Charleston and East Sahara. It's open Monday through Friday from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 9 to 5. Phone number is 455-0566.

They have a wide range of classes for adults and children: arts and crafts, computers, dance, exercise and fitness, early childhood development. Their fitness center offers "state of the art" strength and cardiovascular equipment. All new members must complete a fitness waiver and orientation. Adults pay $3 a day, $12 a week or $80 a month. Seniors (50 and up) and teens (13-17) pay $2/$10/$70.
