The non-profit RISE Education Resource Center in Las Vegas provides a facility and resources to support educational options. As part of their mission, each week RISE hosts a variety of classes for students and parents.
They're looking for members of the community to volunteer to teach classes or give programs, and they say anyone who has a passion can share their skill or knowledge, including kids and teens. Classes can be one time only or a series of classes. RISE has offered Spanish, math, science, German, art, robotics, and language arts classes, in addition to classes such as paper-weapon making, Pokemon, and Hula hoop making. Classes for parents have included homeschooling, making your own laundry detergent, and eating gluten-free.
Contact them at 748-7473 or info@riseresourcecenter.org. Their website is here.
