Immigration Reform Heats Up

AIR DATE: June 7, 2013

The Senate’s comprehensive immigration bill is set to hit the floor today with everyone expecting a lengthy debate and numerous amendments. One Texas senator is calling for a complete border security before many of the provisions in the bill can take effect.

The House of Representatives yesterday also had something to say about the immigration issue. The GOP led house voted to defund the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program. That’s the program that allows young immigrants who were brought to the US as children to get work permits and avoid being deported.
