Erin Bilbray-Kohn Throws Her Hat In The Ring
Erin Bilbray-Kohn Throws Her Hat In The Ring

AIR DATE: July 3, 2013

Erin Bilbray-Kohn, Democratic candidate, Congressional District 3

Erin Bilbray-Kohn, founder of Emerge Nevada, a firm that encourages and trains Democratic women to run for office, is officially running for office herself. She announced that she will be challenging Rep. Joe Heck in Congressional District 3. That district has swung back-and-forth between Democrats and Republicans.

Bilbray-Kohn, a political consultant and mother of two, saw a myriad of problems in Washington D.C, namely a lack of concern for the middle class.

“I felt that as a middle class, small business mother, I could go up there, roll up my sleeves and make a difference for our community”, said Bilbray-Kohn.

As a political consultant, Bilbray-Kohn is displeased with the current Congress and hopes that in the future they will focus more on creating jobs.

“Right now what we’re seeing is partisan theatrics going on at Capitol Hill and people are really tired of that,” said Bilbray-Kohn.

Here’s what Erin Bilbray-Kohn had to say about key issues facing Nevadans:

Immigration Reform

“We need to make sure our borders are strong and secure, but this is the greatest country in the world. We need to have a pathway of citizenship for those who are paying their taxes, don’t have a criminal record, and are willing to learn English. Yes, there should be lots of hoops that we jump through to become a citizen, but we need to have a pathway.”

National Budget

“If I was elected, I would say that members of Congress need to take a pay reduction by 10% like most of America have during this recession. We all need to do our due diligence and we keep that pay cut until we get the budget balanced.”

Raising Taxes

“I am not going to support raising taxes on the middle class. I feel that the middle class has paid enough. I feel that we have paid the burden.”

Social Security

“My mother always says ‘If it’s not broke, don’t fix it,’ and I think we have a tendency as Americans to forget how great this program actually is. People are talking about revamping the system; the reality of the situation is that we need to create more jobs so that people are buying into social security.”

Higher Education

“So many of my fellow parents are nervous about how their kids are going to go to college. Do I feel that it is an absolute right for people to be able to attend college? Yes I do. If you are a good student, ambitious, and doing well, you should be able to get a student loan that you can afford.”

Not Living In District 3

“I was districted out by a mile this last redistricting, but this is the community that I was born and raised in. I go grocery shopping in the district, our pizza place is in the district, I get my hair cut in the district. I like to say I didn’t jump the border, the border jumped me.”

The taxpayers pay you and your staff to protect the public from abuses by the Federal government. An Oath of office and responsibility to serve and protect now appears protecting those in Executive Branch agencies that engage in discriminatory practices and abuse of public trust. This looks like the fix is in or is your silence seen as a sell-out, I wonder? What does it look like to you? Did your office receive a telephone call from someone, I wonder? Congress disapproval rating at 90% and looks like your office is part of the 90%. Why an exerted effort not to inform the public your office may treat the public differently under the provisions of law? The public can handle the truth. Or the apparent silence of discriminatory practices and obstruction of justice you and your staff to prevent going to jail, out o

Congressman Joe Heck and staff protecting government Executive Branch agencies costing the taxpayers' hundreds of millions of dollars yearly. What is your position on government discrimination and abuses. Hon. Heck doesn't seem to care about public trust and confidence. Your comment.

Ms. Bilbray position on agencies that practice or elected officials like Congressman Heck that tolerate discrimination by Executive Branch agencies like Department of Treasury????? No-FEAR Act into Congress. ... (1) Federal agencies cannot be run effectively if those agencies practice or tolerate discrimination. Hon. Heck can be seen to protect those who discriminate, your comment? Ms. Bilbray comment?

I think she sounded very refreshing and passionate. I have only been in Las Vegas for a few years so I plan to do my research but so far, I like what I hear.

I'm not really a partisan person, but I would suggest that unless we are all taxed at the rate of slaves, there will never be enough money for Ms. Kohn to spend on crap and give away to people who didn't earn it. Of course, judging from his voting record, Representative Heck has pretty much the same problem. Happily, in the end, the laws of economics will thwart the socialist plans of both of these parasites.

TOM: Congressman Heck cannot be trusted to protect the public from government discrimination and abuses. The Congressman REFUSAL Oath of Office to uphold the laws and Constitution is costing taxpayers' hundreds of millions of dollars
