State Sen. Is Running For Lieutenant Governor
State Sen. Is Running For Lieutenant Governor

AIR DATE: July 24, 2013

After only one legislative session and halfway into his first term for elected office, Las Vegas lawyer Mark Hutchison is running for another job. But pundits aren't calling this a political overreach, they're praising Hutchison's decision to run. And he has already won the endorsement of Gov. Brian Sandoval, who'll be running for re-election in 2014. So is Hutchison the man to be lieutenant governor? And why does he want the job?

Did Sen. Hutchinson discuss either the office of State Senator, the office of Lt. Governor, or becoming governor with Gov. Sandoval before or during the time he was representing the state for free as a private attorney in the fight against the Health Care Act? Was Governor Sandoval's support for Hutchinson's bid for Lt. Governor a reward for representing the state for free in the HCA court fight? Is this a quid pro quo?
