Will Life Be Beautiful This Weekend?
Will Life Be Beautiful This Weekend?

AIR DATE: October 23, 2013

Tens of thousands of people will head to downtown Las Vegas this weekend for the Life Is Beautiful festival. It's an eclectic 2-day event featuring live music, food (including some high-end culinary offerings), art installations, and a "learning" component. Festival founder-director Rehan Choudhry is banking on the hunch that people who like Beck, Jurassic 5 and the Killers, will also sit still for lectures from the likes of Intel's Steve Brown, and Matt Mullenweg, co-founder of Wordpress. The festival will also shut down a number of city blocks in downtown Las Vegas. Now that the schedule is firmed up, we talk to Rehan Choudhry about what he has planned for Life is Beautiful, and about the challenges of organizing a festival of this kind in urban Las Vegas.
