The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service plans to list the Bistate Sage Grouse as a threatened species. That could drastically change the way ranchers and energy companies can use the 1.8 million acres that are critical to the survival of the species. So is this the best solution for the bird? Or could there be a better way for rural residents, businesses and governments to come together to protect the sage grouse?
