If you think of Bitcoin as the virtual equivalent of Monopoly money, think again. At two Las Vegas casinos, the digital currency just got real.

Beginning today, The D and the Golden Gate will accept Bitcoin at front desks, gift shops and restaurants. But not on the gaming floor, at least not yet.

So why did the owner of these casinos make the leap to Bitcoin, and how big a risk is it?
