Disney Brings Musical Theater To Schools
Disney Brings Musical Theater To Schools

Listen
AIR DATE: February 4, 2014

Wynn and Beckley Elementary Schools have diverse and low-income student bodies. They have high numbers of English Language Learners, and little in the way of extra resources. But this year, both schools are participating in a program that will allow them to produce 30-minute Disney musicals with the help of teaching artists. After the program ends, the staff at school will know how to put on a musical that uses all the resources the school, and the community around it, have to offer.

GUESTS

Linda Avendano, fourth grade teacher, Wynn Elementary School

Kathy Ortiz, teaching artist, Wynn Elementary School

Candy Schneider, vice president of education, Smith Center
