Gut Feeling: What We Learned From The Hadza About Digestion
Gut Feeling: What We Learned From The Hadza About Digestion

Listen
AIR DATE: April 21, 2014

Eating yogurt to encourage the good digestive bacteria isn't as easy as it sounds. A new study shows that not all digestive tracts are the same. The Hadza people of Tanzania eat the traditional hunter-gatherer diet and they have very different microbes than do modern westerners. The research was led by UNLV anthropologist Alyssa Crittenden. She explains the Hadza diet and what it means for our current understanding of diet and nutrition.
