Parents of school kids might not know that when they fill out a standard enrollment form, or even answer a questionnaire about their child’s medical history, that data may be stored by the school district – and ultimately turned over to the state. The Nevada Department of Education hopes to have new draft rules to protect the privacy of that data. Meanwhile, a Washoe County father says he would have to pay more than $10,000 to see what data the state has collected on his children.
