Last week, the Fifth Annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Oratory Competition took place at CCSN, sponsored by the International House of Blues Foundation.

Over the next few weeks on News 88.9 we'll be featuring the winners, students from around Southern Nevada who wrote essays inspired by the life and work of Dr. King.

As a preview, here is Jacob Rooney, a third grader from Kay Carl Elementry School, the winner of the 3rd through 5th grade section.
