Chasing the Water by Ky Plaskon

AIR DATE: April 27, 2004

Lake Mead National Recreational Area has a huge impact on the local economy with many services for locals and tourists alike. When the lake level drops so must all the services around it. They call it chasing the water. The pipe used to suck drinking water out of the lake isnt long enough anymore and the Southern Nevada Water Authority is spending six million dollars to extend it because of those lower lake levels. Ky Plaskon takes a look at the costs of chasing the water.
