... on Las Vegas City Council's recent vote to deny two ballot initiatives pushed by the local culinary union on the June municipal ballot. One initiative would make any lease-purchase agreements, like the one planned to finance a proposed new city hall, subject to public vote. The other would repeal the city's redevelopment plan.
