Sands Casino Resort Bethlehem

AIR DATE: May 22, 2009

...Free-lance journalist Steve Friess joins us to discuss the opening of Las Vegas Sands' newest casino project, about 90 miles north of Philadelphia in Bethlehem, Penn. Friess is covering the story for The New York Times and details how Sands operator Sheldon Adelson is banking on the new resort in the Boston-Washington, D.C. corridor to help reverse the fortunes of his struggling company. It's expected to compete for customers that go to the Foxwoods and Mohegan Sun casinos in Connecticut and the hotel-casinos of Atlantic City.
