Coping with Unemployment

Listen
AIR DATE: August 20, 2009

Nevada's unemployment rate is now at 12% but many people find lack of financial resources is only one part of the problem. Many people are struggling with the personal problems - stress and lack of self-esteem - that come with joblessness. Researchers at the University of Nevada are looking at what people are doing to cope and what more needs to be found out about the psychological stress of being out of work. We talk with the researcher Robyn Maitoza, a graduate student in psychology at UNR, and Anthony Papa, a UNR psychology professor.
