Women Veteran's Issues

Listen
AIR DATE: March 26, 2010

Veterans face a lot of issues when they end their service - like PTSD and trying to collect benefits. But what issues do female veterans face? We talk to a panel of women who have served, and the counselors who help them deal with harassment and sexual trauma. If you're a female veteran and have a story to share about your experiences, call us at 258-3552 during the program or e-mail son@knpr.org.

The 3rd Annual Nevada Women Veterans Summit is this Saturday at the Las Vegas Hilton. VA Secretary Tammy Duckworth will be the keynote speaker.

Guests:
Nancy Faye, Program Manager, Women Veterans
Diane Sakal-Gutierrez, Clinical Social Worker and Military Sexual Trauma Coordinator
Jennifer Nieves, former Army Specialist in Signal Corps Unit
Sally Caspers, former Air Force Intelligence Officer, and masters student, UNLV
