Saturday is National Train Day, and essayist Rosie Dempsey says there are ways to celebrate, even if trains aren't a regular part of our lives.

Nevada State Railroad Museum train rides in old Pullman coaches are held every Saturday and Sunday in Boulder City. The seven-mile ride through desert scenery takes about 45 minutes.

Departure times are 10 a.m., 11:30 a.m., 1 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. Tickets are $8 for adults and $4 for children. For more information call 486-5933 or go here. The station is at 600 Yucca Street.
