Here in Southern Nevada, you could say the desert is a barren wasteland where nothing grows. Wrong! Some folks say you can grow orchards in the desert and they're here to prove it! Three master gardeners tell us the secrets to backyard gardens: growing in 120-degree weather, planting tomatoes in an apartment, and how they're getting children and low-income seniors to grow their own food. What are you growing in your backyard? How do you get fresh produce? If you're an amateur and want tips to turn your thumb green, call 258-3552 or e-mail son@knpr.org.

Marilyn Yamamoto's MeetUp group, "Incredible Edibles," meets this Sunday. See Meetup.com for more details.
