That was an amazing interview!! Mike Montandon is THE top choice for Nevada Governor. He sure has my vote.
DarynMay 17, 2010 21:50:02 PM

Mike Montandon is the only true electable conservative that's running. We need more people like Mike representing Nevada. http://MikeMontandon.com (read his issues it's important)

Mike is the only candidate that is suited to lead Nevada. If only others would see that his consistent, Conservative principles will lead us back on the right track, there would be no hesitation in voting for him. Montandon for Governor!

It's so refreshing to hear a politician that isn't afraid to answer tough questions where you actually know where he stands. Gibbons has no credibility and Sandoval answers any way you want to hear depending on the time of day. My vote goes to the true conservative Mike Montandon, the Chris Christie of NV! Read his views at http://www.mikemontandon.com and make up your own mind on the most qualified person to lead NV.

My name is Allan and my question is why do the cities need both a city Mayor who thinks he runs things and a city Manager who thinks they run things. It seems like the same position being paid twice with benefits.
AllanMay 17, 2010 00:00:00 AM

I would like Mr Montandon to respond to his mismanagement of the historical Kiel Ranch site which has continued to fall into disrepair under his leadership. And don't let him get away with a fluff response his leadership on this issue was despicable.

Thank you state of Nevada for allowing mike Montana to clearly explain all the reasons I will never vote for him. Mike Montana, a terrible choice for Nevada!
AnonMay 17, 2010 00:00:00 AM

Wow! This man does NOT have a problem fielding tough questions. I hear on the streets that he has every informed republican vote in the state because he doesn't pander, knows the constitution, and has a track record of 12 years as a conservative leader in a democrat city. I was thrilled to be able to hear him on the radio. Where can we meet him in person? Thanks KNPR - job well done.

Mike, great interview! Here's hopin' the word spreads that you are the finest choice for Governor.
DukeMay 17, 2010 13:05:35 PM

Mike is truly a moral conservative and exactly what this state needs as its Governor. This radio interview was excellent. I called to see if I could get a copy of it and his campaign office said that KNPR will post it on this site after 3 p.m. and make it available on http://www.mikemontandon.com as well. Mike has my vote and support - and clearly Nevada has a firm opportunity to elect Mike and have a hard working moral conservative in Carson City ... finally!

How can you justify spending so much time talking to Mike Montandan about K-12 education when the decisions and policies for the Clark County School District are determined by the elected school board in consultation with the superintendent they hire and supervise? The Governor (in this case gubernatorial candidate) is just a parent).
Ray WillisMay 17, 2010 00:00:00 AM

I'm impressed with Mike, he wasn't afraid to answer the tough questions. I think it is refreshing to hear a new perspective on helping our schools succeed in teaching and learning. I'm so tired of the same old arguments that we all know don't work. Thank you for bringing something new to the table and making a logical argument.

You have my vote and I hope other voters will give you a chance to make a difference in Nevada.

As Mayor of North Las Vegas, did Mike Montandon know that the City's long-term finances were in such a precarious state? If he didn't know, why not? If he did know, why did the City embark on the construction of a new multi-million dollar City Hall (that they now can't afford to furnish) and other public works projects. Why was former City Manager Gregory Rose allowed to shift funds meant for "More Cops" to other budget categorties in order to prop up the City's general account?
PeteMay 17, 2010 09:23:43 AM

The public school system in Clark County suffers when parents who are strong supporters of quality education remove their children and their support from the classroom. Mike Montandon and his wife have chosen to educate their children at home. As governor, how can he be a leader and an advocate for improving public education in this state when he has denigrated rather than supported public education for his own family.
WhitneyMay 17, 2010 08:21:00 AM

Former Mayor Montandon was a self-appointed member of the North Las Vegas Housing Authority when it was revealed that millions of dollars in federal assistance went unspent and more than $600,000 was unaccounted for. During this same time, hundreds of needy residents - women and children - were denied access to public housing or were forced to live in poorly managed and unsafe housing units. How does he defend this lack of oversight and record of negligence by the NLV Housing Authority Board? If they didn't know what was going on, they should have; and if they did know what was going on, they should have done something about it.
