Some pundits say Dina Titus is a shoo-in for the Democratic primary. But John Beard takes issue with that. The former union carpenter is the only one running against her on the Democratic ticket. He talks immigration, taxes and nuclear testing... and his plan to fix the budget. He makes his case this Thursday.

COMMENTS:
Business experience is fine, but does not mean you can get anything done. Governor Schwartzenager is a business man, and a perfect example of how he did not accomplish what he had hoped.

Unless you fix the system, you will not be able to get anything done either.

Although I respect Mr Beard's comments - I can't for the life of me understand why he is running under the Democratic Party platform.... He is opposed to almost everything they have done or want to do. Surely it would be more honest for him to run as an independant ?
