Darth Vader and Zorro
Darth Vader and Zorro

AIR DATE: July 1, 2010

In January, while on a sidewalk outside The Venetian, brother's Sebastian and Jason Perez-Morciglio say they were confronted by Venetian security and then metro police. The brothers contend they did nothing wrong but allege they were illegally detained and searched by Venetian security and metro.

Sebastian and Jason Perez-Morciglio frequently patrol the Strip as their costumed alter egos Darth Vader and Zorro and that, they allege, is why they were harassed. And now they're suing metro and The Venetian. We talk with the brothers about the case and the history of allegations.

Recently we took some out of town visitors to a show and then to see the fountains at the Bellagio where there were several street performers on the sidewalk. Their actions caused a block in the flow of pedestrian traffic, and I thought they posed a safety and security risk. They definitely impacted the fountain display in a negative way. These folks are essentially running a business and should have a business license and a permit - and be limited to a few per block.
