But, given the similarities and differences what makes these plans different?

Rory, I have to admit this election season I was more interested in your Dad. But now that Ive heard you speak, and also heard your views, I suddenly care much more about our local issues and really want to support you for Governor. You nailed education today, you NAILED it. Of course you still pulled your political bs and claimed Brian will cut jobs (he won't and we all just listened to him explain it) but when it comes to the issues you got it right.

This is great to listen to. Again, Mr. Reid gets it. He understands that it is counterproductive for the only financially appealing path the one that leads teachers out of the classroom and into administration. Maybe his awareness is the function of being married to a teacher. Those who don't get it should stay out of it altogether before they muck it up even more.

How refreshing to hear a politician admit that he understands that not all students are going to become economics professors. The current feel-good, politically correct philosophy is that all students are equally adept at academics, and that all students should go to college. Thank goodness we have somebody in the race who is willing to face reality.

Mr. Reid sounds like he does grasp one fundamental issue and understands how very important it is: the state of education here affects who will come to this state. If you want to attract business and better educated people, then you must make the schools better. He will get my vote.
