Ronnie Jackson played banjo for the TV show Hee Haw. He dressed like a cowboy along with his other bandmates, The Buckaroos. But Ronnie's love of cowboys ran deeper than that - he loved TV westerns and dreamed of being a cowboy as a kid. He turned that admiration into a full-color photo book on the history of TV westerns. How has the image of the TV cowboy changed? Who fits the iconic role of "hero" on TV now? Ronnie Jackson joins us to talk about cowboys, television, and behind-the-scene stories from Hee Haw.

This is for Ronnie. Came across this trying to find you. I am the granddaughter of George Guy. My mom found an old song book of yours. Thought maybe you might want it. Also, since my grandfather passed before I knew he played banjo. Wanna give some lessons.

Ronnie, I sat up for 2 hrs reading your book. You can be very proud of the work you did on this book. If anyone is a Western fan or knows a Western fan get this book. Ronnie you need to do a book sighning.

Thsi email is intended for Ronnie Jackson, if it can get to him. Hey Ronnie, If this gets to you, this is Tom Carpenter. You may remember my as Tommy. Remember Dennis Carpenter the evangelist that you traveled with in the late sixties. I'm his son. I would love to hear from you. I remember that you had a 56 Crown Voctoria that you loved, and diesel got put in it in Lexington and ruined that engine. Nostalgia, I guess. I'm living in Clarksville, TN. I have two children and four grandchildren. I was a mechanic for twnnty years and have been a software developer for the past twenty. I never did learn to play guitars but I did learn to build a pretty good sounding playing instrument. It's a hobby, not an income. :-) Like I said, I would love to hear from you and catch up.
