If August is a little too hot and dry for your taste, then how about doing something with a touch of winter this weekend? The Las Vegas Curling Club - that's right, there is a local group that slides stones down the ice towards the target even though you thought they only did it in Minnesota and Canada - will be holding a beginners' clinic this weekend at the Las Vegas Ice Center. We talk with a couple of local enthusiasts and Nick Kitinski of the United States Curling Association about the sport and what it takes to make a great curler.
I live in New Hampshire but I will be Henderson for the winter months, I have curled at the Nashua Country Club for 14 years. Please tell me where you are located and when you curl. Good Curling Barbara BechardBarbara Bechard –Feb 20, 2012 17:44:25 PM
For sure, you can come down if you're a novice. In fact, we expect that everyone except the instructors will be new to curling, and that's the whole idea. This Saturday, August 14th, from 2-4:30 at Las Vegas Ice on Flamingo. Please wear rubber soled shoes and comfortable clothes.
We're on Facebook (Las Vegas Curling Club) and Twitter (@lasvegascurling) if you need more information. We can also be reached at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Hope to see you there!

I heard about the Las Vegas Curling Club on SoN this morning and would love to check it out!
I was driving, so I didn't get all of the details. Did I hear that there is a Curling clinic this Saturday, the 14th?
Can novices come on down?
