Green Students and Solar Studies at UNLV
Green Students and Solar Studies at UNLV

AIR DATE: September 13, 2010

Leo Banchik just graduated from UNLV and is flying to Madrid. Not to vacation, but to keep on studying. That's because he won a Fulbright to research solar cells in Spain. He studied at UNLV's Center for Energy Research. So are green studies the next wave in academia? And what are colleges doing to the next generation of green workers? Leo Banchik and the Center's director talk to us about how schools are prepping for a green future.

My husband and I have followed the solar research project at UNLV since its inception. What a tribute to Professor Boehm, the Engineering College, and the university to have one of its graduates be invited to continue his research in Europe. Go solar!

This segment "brightened" my day. I'm glad to hear about some UNLV solar success stories and thank you Prof. Boehm for your longstanding efforts in solar energy innovation.
