Marijuana Raids

Listen
AIR DATE: October 4, 2010

Medical marijuana is legal in the state of Nevada, but business owners in the field say that didn't stop their businesses from being raided by federal agents earlier this month.

Now, those business owners are fighting back. A group of different pot dispensary and consultancy groups are forming a lobbying group to urge the Nevada Legislature to allow for legal dispensaries.

We talk with the owners of three medical marijuana businesses about their ideas on how to make pot more accessible to patients.

GUESTS
Mike McAuliffe, owner, Nevada Compassion Center
Rhonda Shade, owner, Medicated Jane's
Mike Rice, owner, Las Vegas Safe Access Dispensary

Big thanks to Rhonda, Mike M. for fighting the good fight. I can't image how tough it must be to work so hard for something you believe in, only for it to be stripped away.
