Technology can be a tool for adjusting global inequality and Nevada is providing one small example of that change. A local manufacturer is making solar lamps to help salt farmers in India. We talk with the manufacturer, one of the salt farmers and representatives of the foundations that are making this connection possible. President Bill Clinton is hosting a reception on Tuesday evening to raise money for the saltLantern initiative.

I am humbled and amazed by this wonderful program. Shedding a little light - from Nevada to India - for only a few dollars per solar lantern will have life changing results for these poor families in India.
