For the past two months, the world has followed the story of the Chilean miners trapped underground. They 33 men finally emerged last week to cheers and media coverage. Film companies and publishers are clamoring for their stories... but a UN-Reno professor says the real stories are those of the women who waited for them above. Emma Sepulveda Pulvirenti flew to Chile and interviewed wives, mothers and lovers as they awaited the miners' rescue. They told her they'd known for a long time about the mine's dangers. They showed her love letters. Then one day, Emma made a terrible discovery of one miner's secret.
