State Senate Candidates
State Senate Candidates

AIR DATE: November 9, 2010

It's eight days to election day and most of the attention is still focused on the US Senate race between Sen Harry Reid and Sharron Angle. But there are other issues and there are certainly other races on the ballot. We talk with three candidates for State Senate about the issues they think are important for the next legislative session in Carson City.

Sen Joyce Woodhouse, Democratic incumbent, State Senate District 5
Tammy Peterson, Democratic candidate for State Senate District 8
Benny Yerushalmi, Democratic candidate for State Senate District 9

Great discussion today -- I wish the Republicans had participated. My full analysis of the discussion is available at, but in a nutshell, I believe Republicans are allowing Democrats to make the tough decisions about governing, while sitting back and carping that taxes are too high. Listening to the discussion made me realize just what the choice is this election: fund public education or don't.
