AIR DATE: November 2, 2010

Novelist Ira Berkowitz published his latest Jackson Steeg novel last year. Steeg is a hard-boiled detective who patrols the Hell's Kitchen neighborhood in New York but does it in a very unorthodox way. Sinners' Ball: A Jackson Steeg Novel has just won this year's Shamus Award from the Best Paperback Original P.I. Novel. We talk with Berkowitz about how he came to writing as a second career and the creation of his signature character, Jackson Steeg. Rebroadcast.
