Famed composer Samuel Adler chose one city to premiere his newest musical creation: Las Vegas. Adler and the Las Vegas Philharmonic bring "Drifting on Wind and Currents," a piece commissioned by a doctor in memory of his wife, to local audiences. Adler and conductor David Itkin talk about the art of composing, music on love and loss, and how it ties into Tchaikovsky's era of Romanticism.

The Las Vegas Philharmonic will be performing Samuel Adler's composition and other pieces with violinist Laura Liu on Saturday, Nov. 20, at 8 p.m. at UNLV's Artemus Ham Hall.
