Full Body Scanners: What Can They See?

Listen
AIR DATE: November 19, 2010

If you're planning on flying for the holidays, take note: McCarran Airport has 14 full-body scanners. They're supposed to detect metal just under the clothing. But how detailed are these scanners? Have they stopped terrorist activity before? Can they see you naked? Why did U.S. marshals in Florida save 35,000 images from their scanner? And what happens if you decide to opt out? The TSA gives us the low-down on the full-body scanner.

GUEST
Dwayne Baird, Public Affairs Manager, TSA Northwest
