In April of 2009, fourteen people walked onto the Creech Air Force Base in Nevada to protest the use of Drones in Afghanistan. Those folks will have to wait for the verdict later in January of 2011. But, they don't care what the judge decides as long as the word spreads that the use of drones is killing more civilians than Taliban. What do the people of Afghanistan think of Drones? And, are they efficient killers?

GUESTS
Kathy Kelly, one of the Creech 14

William Hennigan, reporter, LA Times
Mary Ellen O'Connell, Prof of International Law, University of Notre Dame

COMMENTS:
Joint Special Operations Command blurs separation of USAF and CIA attacks, so Creech protests also address non-battlefield drone strikes. US Courts must let defendants argue their cases rather than limit testimony to simple questions of who, what, where, since worse crimes may be committed that must be stopped. We must trust in Constitution and treaties; not violate, supposing others will, so we do first. Must not hide behind nat. security to cover crimes and bad judgement.

The Question we should really be asking is what to do when Terrorist get a hold of this technology?
Far Dec 8, 2010 09:50:42 AM
Of course. We also have to consider that we are being viewed as terrorists, since the drone strikes do in fact terrorize. What would you call it if it happened to you? What goes around, comes around. The woman from Notre Dame spoke well to this too.
