Listen
AIR DATE: December 10, 2010

Las Vegas is known for having casinos everywhere: the Strip, supermarkets, the airport... but a prison? From 1932-67, the Nevada State Prison ran a casino inside its stone walls. Everyone from prisoners to the local Kiwanis Club mingled over poker, blackjack, and gin rummy. So what went on behind those prison walls? And why did they shut it down in 1967? A casino historian who visited the "Bullpen" gives us the inside story.
