While celebrity bartenders haven't quite caught up to celebrity chefs in public awareness, their craft is still growing in popularity. John Curtas talks to three of the valley's best-known "mixologists," who discuss some of the details of what they do and what makes a great cocktail. Then they demonstrate with some sample drinks for Mister Curtas!

    I heard a comment at the closing of the mixology segment that I must refute. In the early to mid '80's, I bartended in Daytona Beach, Florida. We DID taste-test cocktails using a straw prior to serving any new or unusual concoctions. I spent nearly 20 years working in the Bar/Restaurant business & in that time I saw a steady progression away from focus on quantity & towards a focus on quality. Your guests today epitomize the finest level of quality attained in mixology. I very much enjoyed this piece. Happy holidays! ~Kim
