Long-time Republican leader Bill Raggio suddenly announced his retirement Wednesday. He said he is leaving the Legislature now so that Washoe County Commissioners will have time to appoint a replacement but he did ask that they seek someone who shares his values. We look back on his career, his legacy and the recent troubles in the Republican Party that made Raggio something of an outsider in his own party.
