Late last year, the owners of the Las Vegas Review-Journal decided to shake up the newspaper. They moved aside the publisher and editor who had headed the paper since 1992. The new editor has edited papers in California and Arkansas. Michael Hengel joins us to talk about his plans for the Review-Journal and the community responsibilities of the Nevada's largest newspaper.

    COMMENTS:
I cancelled my subscription to the RJ in December because of the platform the RJ continues to give hateful writers like Schlafly and Coulter. I do miss the Sun but I just can't continue to support the RJ with my 75 cents.

I love the 'View' section that is available for different neighborhoods in town. I would be interested in a subscription to a small publication like this.

One of the most dramatic features of the RJ's election coverage was a very large commitment to public opinion surveys. In retrospect, those polls were dramatically wrong. It is true that CNN whiffed on a late poll in the Reid race, too, but the RJ's polls drove local conversation. Will you be using the polling firms that did those polls in the future?
