Republican Legislators are still sticking by Gov. Brian Sandoval and his pledge of no new taxes in the 2011-13 budget. But some in the Assembly
are saying they might extend the emergency tax increases passed in 2009 for another two years. But it would come at a high price. Republicans say they want stronger measures on public employee benefits and bargaining rights as well as reforms on education, construction defect lawsuits and infrastructure contracts. So is this a serious offer? And can Democrats accept it?
