This weekend UNLV Opera will be staging Giaccomo Puccini's "Madame Butterfly." The opera tells the tale of an American sailor who marries Madame Butterfly. He thinks it's a temporary arrangement but she thinks he's the one. When he eventually returns to Nagasaki, he brings his American wife and Madame Butterfly has only one honorable choice in this tale of love and death.
