Latinos in Nevada saw huge gains in population over the past ten years. As a result the state will gain another congressional seat. Some Latino leaders in Las Vegas say the new district should be drawn as a Latino district with a majority of voters being Hispanic. Proponents of that plan say a Latino specific district would elevate the political influence of Latinos in Southern Nevada. But opponents of the plan says its better for Latinos in Nevada to spread their influence across many districts. So which is better? We discuss the pros and cons of carving out a Latino district in Nevada.
