How Will the Government Shutdown Affect The Southwest?
How Will the Government Shutdown Affect The Southwest?

Listen
AIR DATE: April 12, 2011

Federal officials are preparing for a government shutdown if Capitol Hill doesn't reach a budget agreement.  National parks and museums would close, and employees would be put on furlough.  How would it impact us here?  What affect does it have on Lake Mead, Red Rock, the Bureau of Land Management, tax refunds... even the Mexico border?  Fronteras reporters bring us the latest update on the potential shutdown.

Fronteras: the Changing America Desk is a regional news project between Nevada Public Radio and 6 other public radio stations throughout the American Southwest.
