Artist Chad Brown: Celebrating a Century of Las Vegas

AIR DATE: April 26, 2011

Chad Brown wanted to celebrate Clark County's centennial.  So the artist recreated a 37-foot tall agave plant.  (It's fittingly nicknamed the "century plant," too.)  He crafted it entirely from wood and paper, shaping 330 "flower buds" by hand.  The result now towers in the Rotunda of the Clark County Government Center.  We talk to the local artist about his inspirations, and how he kept his sanity by Flower #125.

His sculptures will be exhibited in the Government Center Rotunda Gallery through May 20.
