AIR DATE: April 27, 2011

In "The King's Speech," King George VI and his therapist overcome his stutter and lead his country through war. The film snagged four Academy Awards. And it also brought stuttering to light - and the plight of those who are teased, bullied, or embarrassed when they have trouble speaking. A local support group helps stutterers. Two members share their stories of growing up with a stutter, and a therapist explains how she coaches stutterers.

Having a speech impediment is bad enough in itself. But being in a position of power, especially for a King, would be absolutely devastating. http://stutteringchildren.net
