Texas Rep. Ron Paul has announced he will seek the Republican nomination for President in the 2012 election. He's been called the Tea Party godfather and one New York Times writer says Ron Paul was Tea Party before Tea Party was cool. Paul has long been an advocate for smaller government in Washington and supports legalizing heroin and ending the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. Ron Paul joins us in studio.

It seems delusional to think that large corporations are driven by providing the best product. Those companies are spurred on to provide the least expensive product - often this is done on the backs of their employees and customers. The free market doesn't always promote honesty.

Ron Paul co-sponsored the bill to halt pay-raises for Congress, he returns $10s of thousands to the treasury every year from his office/staff allowance, he has voluntarily given up his federal pension. Watch who you call a hypocrite, Mark! Ron Paul is the real deal. He is against all corporate subsidies and bailouts. But don't confuse tax breaks with taxpayer subsidies

What steps has Rep. Paul taken to make sure that his Nevada convention delegates are not disenfranchised again? These Nevada delegates won the Republican nomination for him in the Silver State against Sen McCain on the first ballot in the last Presidential primary before Sue Lowden, the chair of the Nevada Republican Party at that point, actually pulled the vote, said ti didn't count, and kicked all of the Ron Paul supporters out of the building.

Jim in Henderson - you're quite right to be concerned that there not be a repeat of what happened in 2008. The Nevada Republican Party, which is now firmly in the hands of Grassroots Republicans, has taken steps itself to prevent this. At the meeting in Carson City of the Nevada Republican Central Committee (NRCC), new and quite detailed rules were adopted by the Central Committee to govern the Presidential caucus and the subsequent selection of national delegates. As the Chair of the NRCC Rules Committee I personally wrote the original draft of these rules and subsequently presided over the meeting that adopted them. Preventing another 2008 was foremost in my mind and that of every NRCC member. I'd be happy to meet you personally at the next meeting of the Clark County Central Committee (clarkgop.org) and answer any questions you have.

I would be interested in hearing how Dr. Paul would work to decrease the level of dependence many have on the government to take care of them through the various social programs that have become so costly to our country.
