Henderson City Council Ward 4
Henderson City Council Ward 4

AIR DATE: May 23, 2011

Ward 4 was the only Henderson City Council election that wasn't decided on Primary Day. The two top vote-getters, Mike Mayberry and Sam Bateman, are battling it out to represent Ward 3 on the Henderson City Council. We hear what they think the big issues are and why they want to be elected to represent Ward 3.

Bottom line: Henderson needs jobs. Bateman detailed his plan to get jobs here and he will listen to current business owners. Mayberry has nothing (well, besides making the fairways at Lake Las Vegas green again). Was already leaning towards Bateman but this interview made it pretty clear that he's the only one ready to represent our ward.

You would think these two candidates (a retired police chief and assistant D.A.) would use fact-based evidence in their allegations against each other, not statements the other can refute just by saying so. Good luck in choosing your ward rep, Henderson!

If a past interview on KNPR isn't fact-based then why are you listening to this interview now? Can this interview be disputed with "I say so?" I don't think so. The obvious choice is Sam Bateman. He is a breath of fresh air for Henderson. He knows what needs to be done and has a plan set to execute. If anyone listened to that interview, there's no question!
