Two major projects at McCarran Airport have been shut down, partly due to a Capitol Hill fight over rural airport subsidies.  Congress is debating whether to slash subsidies to airlines serving small airports like the one in Ely.  This is part of a larger bill that proposes to extend Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) funding.  So what do these potential cuts mean for our local airports?  And what do they mean for the crews who were supposed to build those McCarran projects.
